The New Angola theater is a small, historic, one-room theater located at 72 North Main Street in Angola, New York. We offer first-run films in a classic, historic setting, at affordable prices.
Our theater first opened its doors as “The Theatre Angola” on November 25, 1924 as a silent movie house. Considered a credit to the progressive spirit of the village, the modern movie house constructed by Mr. & Mrs. Frank Wiatrowski offered moderate cost movies, 3-act vaudeville shows, and local entertainment. For more information about our past, please visit our history page.
The theater is located in the Village of Angola. For more information on the area, visit the Village of Angola website.
There are several parking spots on both sides of the street in front of the theater as well as additional spaces in the city lots nearby.
Our theater is wheelchair accessible. It includes a concrete ramp at the main entrance as well as designated seating areas for those in wheelchairs.
Our theater currently accepts cash only. There is an ATM located down the street within walking distance from our theater, in the event that patrons need cash.
2D or 3D Shows
The theater employs a Christie digital projector and has the ability to show movies in both 2D and 3D formats. In 2017, due to overwhelming feedback from our patrons, we switched from a 3D format for all shows to a 2D format, though we still have the capability to show 3D films. If you are interested in hosting a private event using our 3D capabilities, please contact us.
We do offer custom popcorn orders with advanced notice and by special request. We currently offer old-fashioned "trash bag" sizing. A full sack of popcorn is $24 and a half sack is $13. Please call ahead and speak with our theater manager to place a custom order.
